Feeding the local wildlife

ant bistroI woke up this morning (well okay so technically it was afternoon but whatever) and I wandered down to my office to find that my desk had been invaded by the local wildlife.

There was a trail of ants marching too and fro carrying little bits of what appeared to be last night’s midnight snack.  (I really do need to learn how to throw stuff away when I am done with it!)

Anywhooooooo while I appreciated their effort to clean up my mess from the night before I realized that I couldn’t work with the little darlings walking all over my desk.

terro ant poisonSo me being the nice person that I am I decided to open a restaurant.  I put out a lovely little puddle of Terro and it wasn’t long before they were all munching down.   In fact so many ants came to the little bistro I opened that I had to open two more just a few inches down the block.

Then, like all grand openings, the novelty of it must have worn off because by the following morning there were just a few stragglers that looked like they might have had way too much to drink and couldn’t find their way home.  By mid afternoon even they were all gone.

I ended up having to close the restaurants and file for bankruptcy.  I guess I should have known better than to open them up in this economy anyway.

Oh well – live and learn.
